How Entry Point Alert works

Tell us which Boundary Waters entry points and dates you want. We watch recreation.gov for you and email you the second a permit opens up — so you can book it before anyone else.

Four steps to your first alert

01

Pick your entry points

Choose up to five exact entry points, or watch a whole ranger district and catch anything that opens in it.

02

Set your dates

Give us a date window of up to 14 days. We'll only alert you for openings that fall inside it.

03

We watch 24/7

We track recreation.gov around the clock, checking your entry points far faster than anyone refreshing by hand.

04

You get the email

The instant a permit flips from full to open, we email you a direct link so you can book before it's gone.

Your first watch is free. No credit card.

Start with a free watch on up to three entry points. After that, watches run on simple credit packs — no subscription, and you only pay for what you set up. We always show the cost and ask you to confirm first; once a watch is set, its entry points and dates are locked in.

Common questions

What does it cost after my free watch?

Your first watch is free. After that, watches run on credits — 1 credit for a set of up to five entry points, 3 for a whole district. Credit packs start at $9 for 5 credits, so most watches cost around $1–2. No subscription. We show you the exact cost and ask you to confirm before any credit is spent, and credits are non-refundable.

How fast do alerts go out?

We check recreation.gov continuously and email you within moments of a date opening — well before someone refreshing the page by hand would notice.

Can I change a watch after I set it?

No — once you set a watch, its entry points and dates are locked in, so double-check them before you confirm. You can still pause a watch or delete it from your dashboard, but deleting doesn't refund the credit. To watch different dates or entry points, just set a new watch.

Is the availability data real?

Yes — it's live recreation.gov data. You can browse the same real-time grid yourself on the availability and map pages without an account.
